speaking of how i don't have money-- i worked two seperate jobs this weekend, one that was a hilarious failure and one that is an old job at pocono raceway that is also sort of hilarious but more successful. my boss is sexist and thinks i'm too dumb to work a camera but he pays under the table and is a good guy despite all the shit his employees talk. i'm working there tomorrow as well, and then i am going to see conor oberst with bridget which just was decided today. his new album is worlds better than i expected it to be and bridget had a spare ticket and i haven't seen her in a very long time.
i'll talk about the job later, because i have to go to sleep so i can wake up at sevensomething and not be an hour and a half late like today. for someone who needs a job so badly, i sure am obnoxious.
yesterday i gardened for a very long time and cleaned up my front porch. i feel really good about growing plants that i can eat. right now, it's lots of basil and parsley and tomatoes on sandwiches every day and cucumbers that my mom grew. i am going to start up a jar of alfalfa sprouts once i buy some seeds. i'm not actually sure where to do that. i have a nice lavender plant and i want to look into using it in baked goods. i also want to bake different kinds of bread on a regular basis. right now my gram bakes bread every few days but it's always the same white buttery loaves. i want wheat, i want rosemary and baguettes and flax seeds!
today at work, matt told me about geocaching and it seems pretty neat. new-age letterboxing with gps. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching)
i think i'm going to the beach on tuesday with my family. i thought for sure i'd have a real job by now. what is my problem.
someday soon, i will take photographs of things (like maybe my pretty edible plants) to put on here, since those are more interesting than my words. and also, of this amazing bicycle bell i found on a bicycle hanging upside down in my barn. i have two bicycle bells and an old horn but this one takes the cake. jon keiran broke my original bell and i'm still sad about it. i hope one day when he's google-searching his name, this pops up. that's right jon! i'm still sad! anyway, my house has a lot of stuff and i have this joke with john about how anytime i really want anything, it appears in my house. like the magic box on lost. examples:
-i was thisclose to buying a basic black hooded sweatshirt and one was in a closet in the mudroom
-the dress i wore to graduation and nicole's bridal shower, found in a closet
-a sweet old 620 box camera popped up in the barn when i was looking through the stuff from my pappou's bar for my photo project this past semester
-other clothes? i can't remember right now. definitely some winter vests i have worn.
-a bicycle bell with a unicorn and hearts on it. thanks, young mother.
